Arts, Hearts and Minds

Claude Watson School for the Arts was established in the early 1980's as a school dedicated to providing children with an exemplary arts education in a challenging academic environment.   Students spend approximately half of their time in challenging academic classes (language, math, science, social studies, French, Health and Physical Education.  The other half of their time is spent learning in the five arts areas of dance, digital arts, dramatic arts, music and visual arts.

Claude Watson School for the Arts has hundreds of children applicants each winter for Grade 4 entry the following September. CWSA has 300 students, 60 at each grade level.  

The Claude Watson School for the Arts Campus is located in the Yonge and Shepard neighbourhood.  Our building is custom build for our unique program.   Our facility has 10 academic classrooms.  Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and wireless network service.  We have a custom dance studio, 2 music rooms, 2 art studios and a drama studio.  Our school has a good size gym and a multi-purpose room.  The front of the school has bleachers located under our library.  Our library also houses our digital arts lab.
